Tusome is a national-scale program for improving the reading skills of learners in grades 1 and 2.

Policy Brief on the National Early Grade Literacy and Numeracy Survey in Jordan: 2013/2014 Intervention Pilot Program

This brief discusses an intervention in Jordan which was developed following the 2012 EGRA and EGMA revealed that Jordanian children in the early grades were not reading with comprehension or doing mathematics with understanding. As a result, the MoE Curriculum Team and the Senior Reading and Mathematics Supervisors, to develop an intervention pilot research program that would support teachers in providing deliberate, structured, and developmentally appropriate daily practice in foundational skills for reading and mathematics.

Primary School Reading Study for Honduras: Final Report

The first component of this EdData II research report (RTI Task 30) was a desk study of literacy instruction in primary schools in Honduras. The researchers reviewed curriculum materials and investigated the instructional practices and use of materials by teachers in primary schools. The second component was an October 2014 field study that involved collecting quantitative and qualitative data from 43 schools in grades 2, 3, 5, and 6, on effective teacher practices, school environment, and infrastructure related to early grade reading instruction.

Ghana 2013 National Education Assessment-Technical Report

This report presents the findings from the 2013 administration of the Ghana National Education Assessment (NEA), carried out by the Assessment Services Unit (ASU) within the Ghana Education Service (GES). In addition to the performance results, this volume offers a substantial amount of contextual background and technical detail regarding the methodology for the 2013 NEA test development, sampling, data collection, and data analysis. Available separately is a brief document titled Ghana 2013 National Education Assessment: Summary of Results, which focuses more narrowly on the findings. The summary version is intended for use in discussions of policies and recommendations around instruction and educational assessments in Ghana.
